Step into the world of fruity fun of party games: Banana Bash! Players are challenged to think outside the box, or rather, outside the hand and legs. The challenge lies in mastering the art of swinging the banana effectively to make contact with the orange. It’s not just about brute force – precision is key!
Overview
Players must maneuver the orange into a designated target, aka – the Orange Circle. The player who successfully places the orange inside the circle first emerges victorious.
Game Set Up
This game can be played in rounds. Typically 2-4 people per round can be played.
In a round, each player needs:
- 1 banana tied to a string that hangs down the leg, either tied to a belt or another string around the waist
- 2 oranges
- Hula hoop
- Timer
- Paper & pencil
Game Play
Players take the belt or string and wrap it around their waist. The banana should not drag the ground and should be adjusted if it is too long. Spread the players out so each player has about 3 feet to move around their hoop. Set the oranges together about two feet from the hoop. Set the timer for one minute. Without using their hands or legs, players attempt to move the orange using only the banana into the hula hoop. From fancy flicks to gentle taps, the possibilities are endless! Record the lowest time for the winner of each round.
Notes:
- Opt for larger bananas and oranges for an easier hitting experience.
- Ensure the string is securely tied – interruptions mid-game are best avoided!
- Choose a sufficiently robust string for effective banana swings; thread or thin yarn may not be up to the task. Opt for a sturdy clothesline for the ideal string type.
Winning the Game
The first one to skillfully position the orange within the Orange Circle in the shortest time claims victory and the title of the ultimate Banana Bash master!
